Helpful FOSS people on the Internet

I’ve had a lot of fun this weekend getting some taking some Docker containers on my NAS and making them publicly and securely accessible from anywhere. I was able to figure out the Synology NAS’s builtin reverse proxy capability, associate my containers with subdomains on this site, and create certificates to keep it all secure.

Major thanks to:

Marius Hosting for TONS of Synology tutorials. I did tip him €5.

Random hero okigan for making a hugely useful script linking Synology and Porkbun’s systems.

Let’s Encrypt for giving me free certificates and allowing anybody to have basic security on their site.

Now I can securely access my movies, shows, audiobooks, and bookmarks from anywhere!

Matt
