I was actually feeling not-depressed for a while yesterday and found myself singing along with “Karma Chameleon” in the car. I realized I didn’t know all the words, even though I thought I did. I don’t know a lot about Culture Club or Boy George but this is just a really amazing pop song. It has the perfect rhythm, feel, melody, singability and it has a chromatic harmonica solo.
For most of my childhood I thought “Karma Chameleon” was nonsense syllables. Or maybe Come On Camelia? Was she coming on with Eileen? I think I was a teenager by the time I learned the truth.
