I would like to announce the creation of my new website/blog Shook.Rocks!
I read an article lamenting the death of the personal web page. Everyone has a Facebook page and a Twitter feed, etc. But nobody seems to create their own unique page. It reminded me of how I lost my mattshook.com website due to the incompetent/dishonest bargain-bin hosting company I was using.
I looked around to see what domain names were available+affordable and I found Shook.Rocks. The name gave me inspiration of what to do with it. There is an evidence-based depression therapy known as gratitude journaling. Every day you’re supposed to write down the things you are thankful for. This is often accompanied by some cheesy prompts. I know it helps many people but I had trouble getting past 1 or 2 days. This new blog will be a gratitude journal in my own style.
Shook.rocks is a site about things that rock. I’m not necessarily going to post about my own day-to-day life. I’m probably not going to post about current events or my health (unless I have something good to say). I’m going to stay away from posts about books or movies I don’t like. This is a place just for things that rock.
I don’t expect anybody to read this. I disabled posting comments or contacting me. I’m just writing for my own amusement. But I did decide to tell my family. A blog with zero readers is a little sad.
