I have had this coffee mug for over half my life.

Where did I get it? Why do I have it? Did I drink coffee when I was 12? Who knows?

Liberty Middle School was where I attended 6th-8th grade. At first there’s nothing special about the mug, until you realize it’s approximately 30 years old! Look at the thing. It’s flawless! It has a clearcoat like a brand new car. You can see my reflection in it. The picture of the lion is pristine. There’s not a single chip.

This is after decades of being run through a dishwasher. In 2200, my descendents will be drinking algae tea from it, wondering what a lion is.

Also, I just realized, why are the school colors tiger colors?
